Offshore vessel inducted to strengthen security

Defence Minister AK Antony inducted a new indigenously developed advanced offshore patrol vessel into the Coast Guard to further strengthen coastal security. The 'ICGS Sankalp' is the fifth Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessel which has been designed and built indigenously to carry one twin-engine helicopter, including the indigenously built Advanced Light Helicopter, and five high-speed boats for search & rescue.
