One person was killed and many passengers severely injured, as fourteen bogies of the New Delhi-bound Brahmaputra Mail derailed near Nijbari railway station in Siliguri late on Sunday night, December 9. The injured were taken to the nearby Siliguri's north Bengal Medical College and Hospital. The authorities had employed 4 north Bengal State Transport Corporation buses for ferrying the stranded passengers.
