Updated on Aug 27, 2011 09:58 pm IST
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday said that only the lawmakers have the right to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill. While addressing a news conference in Guwahati, Gogoi stated that social activist Anna Hazare's stubborn attitude is inconsistent with the democratic setup. Gogoi went on to state that the government's draft bill has lot of flaws and it needs to be rectified adding that mere passage of the bill will not end corruption in the country. The Chief Minister also attacked the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for trying to gain political mileage out of the fluid situation.
