Pak challenges India’s Basmati claim
Updated on Aug 02, 2007 05:27 pm IST
The Super Basmati issue can turn up into a classic example of intellectual property nuke war between India and Pakistan. Pakistan reportedly plans to take legal action against India over a dispute on patenting of Super Basmati rice. A notice in this regard from Islamabad to New Delhi has already been sent. The notice sent to the Indian government comes as a reaction to India registering Super Basmati variety in 2006 for export.
