Plastic furniture outmodes bamboo craft

Traditional bamboo furniture is losing out to plastic furniture that has flooded markets across the country. Traditional craftsmen in Rawali hamlet of Uttar Pradesh, who live on the trade rue that they find it very difficult to survive in the face of increasing competition from jazzy plastic furniture. At least 3,000 families are dependent on the trade in about eight villages in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh.
