Activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Wednesday blocked several roads as part of their nation-wide blockade over the Amarnath shrine land transfer row. Road and railway traffic in other parts of India was also affected by the blockade, which lasted for about two hours. Protesters stopped train and other vehicular movement and threatened to step up their agitation if the allotted land was not handed over to the shrine board.
