Security of Bhakra Nangal dam tightened

Amidst reports of the Bhakra Nangal Dam being in the hit list of terrorists,its security has been beefed up. As per media reports, the Intelligence Bureau has sent alerts to various security agencies including the Himachal Pradesh and Punjab police claiming that the Bhakra dam built on the river Sutlej was on the hit-list of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and the Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD). After the alert, armed police officials were seen checking the all the private and public vehicles thoroughly before letting them pass through the checking posts.
