Shashi Tharoor: SC’s move on Section 377 is positive development
Updated on Feb 03, 2016 10:52 am IST
“The Supreme Court decision to re-open the debate on Section 377 is a positive development for the LGBT community,” Shashi Tharoor said on Tuesday. The Congress MP has been one of the few politicians who has been voicing his opinion against the draconian law. The Supreme Court on Tuesday heard a curative petition challenging an earlier apex court verdict that criminalised homosexuality in India. It then referred the petitions on Section 377 to a five-judge Constitution Bench for hearing.
