Shrinking River Ganges alarms environmentalists

The revered River Ganges or Ganga, which draws millions of devotees and tourists to its banks every year, is shrinking in size. Environmentalists and scientists in the holy city of Varanasi are concerned a lot these days due the shrinking size of the sacred river Ganges. The pollution levels in the river have reached an alarming level and experts predict a severe water crisis in the Ganga basin in the near future.
