Uphaar tragedy: 15 years and still waiting for justice

Updated on Jun 13, 2012 06:40 pm IST

Justice still eludes the relatives and family members of the victims of India's worst-ever cinema hall fire as they held special prayers to mark the 15th anniversary of the Uphaar tragedy in New Delhi today. Relatives of the victims performed special fire rituals at a memorial set up near the cinema. Neelam Krishnamoorthy, President of the Association of the Victims of Uphaar Tragedy (AVUT) and mother of two victims blamed the Indian judicial system for the delay in justice.
