Uttarakhand flood: Victims blames government for inaction

Updated on Jun 22, 2013 02:25 pm IST

Victims of floods and landslides in Uttarakhand assailed authorities of the state government for their apathy in attending to the needs of the people stranded in relief camps for the past eight days. They voiced their ire against the officials at a relief camp set up in the vicinity of the temple town of Joshimath. The victims continue to remain stuck in various parts of the state without basic amenities even when relief funds from various states are being sent to Uttarakhand. Another stranded victim at the Joshimath camp, Janaki Devi, who lost her son during the floods, wondered as to how she would return to her home without her children.
