Waiting for Kingfisher to reply to show cause notice: Ajit Singh

Updated on Oct 12, 2012 04:42 pm IST

Civil Aviation Minister, Ajit Singh today said that after the Kingfisher Airlines replies to the show cause notice, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) would take a decision if the cash-trapped airline fulfils safety and maintenance requirements. Singh added that the DGCA is bound to take action if the airline fails to adhere to guidelines. Kingfisher cancelled all flights recently and faces a potentially prolonged shutdown until the cash-strapped carrier clears a salary backlog going back months.
