Updated on Mar 15, 2016 05:45 pm IST

'Azadi' has taken on many connotations at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) ever since student union president Kanhaiya Kumar was arrested on charges of sedition. We asked JNU students what Azadi really means at the campus. Kumar was arrested last month on charges of seditious sloganeering during an event at the campus to mark the hanging of Afzal Guru, who was convicted for the attack on Parliament in 2001. Students say the term 'azadi' can mean a host of different things for different people.
