Just after the war cabinet meeting ended on January 13, two ministers from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet participated in an anti-government demonstration in Tel Aviv. A photo of Israeli Minister Benny Gantz attending the demonstration was posted online. "The responsibility is on us," Gantz said. The release of the captives held by Hamas was sought by thousands of demonstrators. In addition to US Ambassador to Israel Jack Lew and French President Emmanuel Macron, who joined via video conference, speakers at the demonstration included the families of some of the 136 prisoners that Hamas has now been holding in Gaza for 100 days.
