Mamata adopts Congress slogan, jabs PM Modi with ‘chowkidar chor hai’ chant

Addressing an election rally in Diamond Harbour in West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee targeted the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Mamata asked the crowd to chant 'chowkidar chor hai' (the watchman is the thief), a common refrain in Congress rallies. The latest attack by Mamata comes in the backdrop of violent clashes in Kolkata between TMC and BJP cadre, which led to the Election Commission's decision to curtail campaigning time in the state. Mamata's nephew Abhishek Banerjee is the Trinamool Congress candidate from Diamond Harbour.
