NATO unprepared to fight Russia? Big claim by top ex-U.S. General amid war escalation fears

A big claim about NATO's lack of military preparedness has been made as Russia accuses the bloc of becoming a de facto participant in the ongoing Ukraine conflict. A retired U.S. general has told The Washington Post that NATO is not prepared to fight Russia. The general said that the U.S.-led bloc is struggling with vague plans and poor logistics. Almost one year earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that the bloc would increase its number of high-readiness troops from 40,000 to 300,000.
