17 killed in Kanpur road accident, CM Adityanath announces compensation

- At least 17 people were killed & several others injured in a road accident in UP's Kanpur. Accident occurred when a bus they were travelling in collided with a three-wheeler light carriage truck. The mishap took place on Kanpur-Allahabad highway in Sachendi area late on Tuesday evening. According to the police, the bus was travelling from Lucknow to Delhi. Police informed that the injured were rushed to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital. PM Narendra Modi took to Twitter and expressed grief over the accident. Union HM Amit Shah also condoled the deaths and wished the injured a speedy recovery. CM Yogi Adityanath has announced compensation for the kin of the deceased and ordered a probe into the incident.
