'Army chief a realist': On India-Pak ceasefire, views from both sides of border

• In late February this year, the Indian and Pakistani armies agreed to adhere to the 2003 ceasefire pact. The understanding was reached after months of heavy, unprovoked shelling from the Pakistani side, and retaliation in equal measure from India. Despite reports of some provocations by Pakistani forces, the agreement seems to have been upheld for 100 days now. But, the fragile peace seems to be making Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan uncomfortable. Recently, he said that Islamabad and Delhi can return to the talks table only if the special status of Jammu and Kashmir is revoked. Days after the comment, Indian Army chief General MM Naravane said that trust is a difficult thing to come by, and the onus is on Pakistan to build it after years of mistrust.
