- Indians in Toronto celebrated the country's Independence Day with a 75-foot-long cake. People gathered in huge number & cut the cake to mark 75th year of India's independence. The Indo-Canadian community celebrated I-Day with verve amid eased Covid restrictions. Canadian landmarks like Niagara Falls, Toronto’s CN Tower were lit up in hues of tricolour. On August 15, 1947, India had achieved independence after years of struggle.
