Delhi Police has put in place a multi-layered security plan for the upcoming BRICS Summit, with around 15,000 personnel and 200 companies of paramilitary forces set to be deployed across the national capital, a senior police officer said on September 10. Special Commissioner of Police Manish Kumar Agrawal said the arrangements have been designed to ensure maximum security for visiting dignitaries while causing minimum inconvenience to the public. Delhi Police is coordinating with multiple agencies, with extensive surveys of all identified routes already completed. Security deployment will focus on law and order, traffic management and protection of the dignitaries. The arrangements will cover key locations including the airport, hotels, designated routes and other scheduled and unscheduled places that may be visited by the visiting leaders and delegates during the BRICS Summit.
