The Indian Navy has now decided to open the doors of its elite special forces to women. This will allow them to serve as commandos for the first time in any of the three services. Navy officials told Hindustan Times that it’s truly a watershed in India’s military history as women can now become Marine Commandos (MARCOS) if they choose to and meet the criteria. From special operations to warship duties, no wing of the Indian Navy now restricts women. The Navy has transformed itself into a fully gender-neutral force. Watch this report for more details.
