How many migrant workers returned home during lockdown? Government answers

• The plight of the migrant labourers during the COvid induced lockdown was brought in the Rajya Sabha. Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav asked the government about details of the numbers of labourers from the unorganized sector who had to return home during lockdown and the government’s plans for them. Minister for Labour and Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar admitted that about 1 crore labourers had returned home during the lockdown.
