Indian cough syrup turns ‘toxic’ for 18 Uzbek kids; Modi govt probes Noida firm

India has launched an inquiry after Uzbekistan claimed that 18 children had died due to the consumption of a cough syrup and tablets made by drugs manufacturer from Noida in Uttar Pradesh. The Uzbekistan Health Ministry claimed that 18 of the 21 children who took the Doc-1 Max tablets and syrup made by Indian firm Marion Biotech had died. Reportedly, the chemical ethylene glycol was found in the syrup during lab tests, which is said to be toxic. Watch this video for more information.
