'Indian retail chains in Russia': Putin bats for expanding ties with New Delhi

Russian president Vladimir Putin spoke for the first time at the BRICS summit after invading Ukraine in February this year. China, which is chairing this year's brics summit, hosted leaders of Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa. Putin said at the summit that Russia has re-routed its trade with brics nations amid western sanctions. The U.S. led western bloc has slapped a slew of sanctions on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine. Putin said the talks are on with India's Narendra Modi govt to pave the way.
