Israeli bus attacked in Jerusalem amid Israel-Palestine tensions; 8 injured

• A gunman wounded eight people aboard a bus carrying Jewish worshippers in the Old City of Jerusalem. The shooter later turned himself into Israeli authorities. The attack took place in the early hours of Sunday, as Jews were leaving Western Wall rites marking the end of the Sabbath. Palestinian militant factions in Gaza praised the attack, which came a week after the worst outbreak of hostilities in more than a year, when Israeli jets pounded the narrow coastal strip in what the military said was a pre-emptive attack aimed at preventing an imminent threat to Israel.
