- West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee met farmer leaders Rakesh Tikait and Yudhvir Singh. Mamata promised to support the farmers movement. Farmer leaders met the TMC supremo to elicit her support for their agitation. "Protests ongoing in Delhi, getting support from West Bengal. Bengal should work like a model state, farmers should get benefits. Poultry farmers, vegetable farmers should be benefitted," BKU spokesperson Rakesh Tikait said. TMC had announced that it would expand its footprint beyond Bengal. Mamata said there should be a union of state governments to take on the Centre. BKU had supported the campaign against BJP in West Bengal elections. BJP has been ruling since seven years and brought black laws. Farmers have been affected, unemployment has increased. We want the farmers movement to be strong. People lost jobs, the Centre does not care about jobs. With lockdown in place, the economy is disastrous," the Bengal CM said.
