Mumbai & its neighbouring areas have been receiving heavy rainfall for the past few days. Waterlogging has been reported in many parts of the city including Mahim, Andheri East. IMD predicted moderate rainfall in the city with very heavy showers at isolated places. An orange alert has also been issued for Mumbai & suburbs in view of heavy showers. IMD said Mumbai recorded a rainfall of 57.2 mm from Wednesday 5.30 pm to Thursday 5.30 pm. Meanwhile, local train services on the Central line resumed after being suspended for 15 hours. As per IMD, the southwest monsoon arrived in the country’s financial capital on June 9. Union Minister Piyush Goyal has said both Mumbai & Railways need to be prepared for the monsoon.
