Oppn MPs tear papers, faceoff with marshals amid ruckus over Insurance Bill

• Massive ruckus broke out in Rajya Sabha once again today during the introduction of the General Insurance Business (Nationalisation) amendment bill 2021. Opposition members, who were demanding the bill to be sent to select committee, created an uproar and shouted slogans. The members also threw papers at the chair and faced-off with marshals. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi accused the House members of attacking marshals and demanded strict action against the unruly members. Despite opposition protests, the bill was passed in the House, leading to more ruckus and adjournment sine die.
