PFI conspiracy in Kanpur clash? UP police probes links to violence; 36 arrested

The Uttar Pradesh police is investigating a suspected PFI link behind the violence that took place in Kanpur yesterday. This after Kanpur police commissioner Vijay Singh Meena said that 'an organisation that called the bandh withdrew the call after talking to the administration, but violence suddenly broke out on Friday'. Meanwhile, 36 people have been arrested and 3 FIRs have been registered against 1000 unknown people for stoking violence. Police said that they will be booked under the Gangster Act and their properties will be bulldozed. The situation is under control as of now and heavy police deployment is in place.
