Pushed shouting, screaming into police jeep, sacked U.P IPS officer's arrest

• A former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur was arrested in a dramatic fashion in Lucknow by the UP Police. Video of Thakur’s arrest has now gone viral on social media. In the video, he can be seen resisting his arrest as the cops shove him into a police vehicle. Thakur was arrested in an abetment of suicide case. The case pertains to the woman who tried to self-immolate outside the Supreme Court on Aug 16. Notably, Thakur was under ‘house arrest’ and he had announced to contest elections against UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He was forcibly retired by MHA in March 2021.
