Putin beats West’s sanctions? U.S ally Japan’s trade with Russia surges amid war

Russia-Japan trade surged in 2022 despite sanctions on Moscow over Ukraine war. Russia based TASS reported that trade between both nations saw a 10% increase. In monetary terms it means, Japan-Russia had a bilateral trade of 1.365 trillion yen or around $18 billion. As per TASS, this surge in trade was mainly due to volatility in global energy market. Russia is one of the world’s biggest oil producers & exporters, remains one of the major suppliers of liquefied natural gas to japan via Sakhalin island complex. Watch this video for more.
