Sedition law row in LS: Congress cites Disha Ravi case; Modi govt hits back

• A heated war of words was witnessed between the BJP and the Congress over the alleged misuse of sedition laws by the present government. Congress alleged that the government is misusing sedition laws to silence its critics and added that many are being jailed for years on end with even a charge sheet. Congress further alleged that many sedition cases were filed in the aftermath of the 26th January protests by farmers.
