Stone pelting at Badal rally in Punjab; how farmer's protest turned violent

Violence broke out in Moga district of Punjab when farmers who were protesting against Akali Dal rally clashed with police. The farmers allegedly tried to force their way inside the rally venue where Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal was himself present. However cops resorted to lathi charge in a bid to break the farmer protest. In response, farmers pelted stones at police, leading to clashes. Akali Dali is the former BJP ally and parted ways from the NDA alliance after three farm bills were passed in the Parliament last year. Punjab is all set to go for polls next year and farmer protests is one of the key issues in the state.
