'Taliban can't afford India enmity': Engagement in Delhi's interest

As the civil war situation in Afghanistan deteriorates, India is faced with a quandary. With Taliban rapidly advancing, and serious questions being raised about the Afghan government's ability to hold them back, should Delhi engage with the militants? Former foreign secretary and ex-Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan Vivek Katju argues in favour of having formal ties with the Taliban. Citing examples of American, Russian, Iranian, and Chinese engagement with Taliban, Katju says that such a move won't dilute its stand on Pakistan-based terrorism. Watch the full video for more.
