Watch: Heavy showers cause waterlogging in Delhi, Traffic Police issue advisory

- After a dry spell, parts of Delhi witnessed incessant rain accompanied by thunderstorms. The heavy spell inundated low-lying areas including key stretches, underpasses across the city. As per IMD, Delhi received 73.2 mm rainfall over Friday night & early Saturday morning. Delhi Traffic Police urged commuters to avoid certain stretches due to heavy waterlogging. Traffic police listed Minto Bridge, Azad Market, Pul Prahladpur & Moolchand underpasses. IMD issued an Orange alert for Saturday predicting moderate to heavy showers across the city. This year, the monsoon in the national capital had been delayed by more than two weeks. The last time Delhi received rain was on August 8, when a rainfall of 15.4mm was recorded. IMD also informed that NCR will continue to be hit by moderate to heavy intensity rains. Haryana, Sonipat, Panipat & Ganaur will receive thunderstorms with light to moderate rain.
