Manhas was brought to the CRPF camp in Bijapur after he was released. “A press note was released saying that the government is preparing a team for mediation. He told me that he got lost during the ambush. Maoists said that they were leaving him on humanitarian grounds. They (maoists) said that the soldier be sent back home. Bringing back the soldier was everyone’s responsibility.”
