On cam: Trump's 2nd election attack on Ukraine as Zelensky makes new demands before allowing voting
Updated on Dec 11, 2025 11:47 am IST
US President Donald Trump said he spoke with the leaders of France, Germany and the UK about Ukraine, describing the discussions as “strong” and suggesting the conflict could be resolved soon if certain conditions are met. He insisted the US is not directly spending money on Ukraine, framing American involvement as selling weapons to NATO, which then supplies Kyiv. Citing heavy battlefield losses, Trump said the war “should never have started” and that Zelensky must be “realistic” and consider what the Ukrainian people want, including elections and a settlement. He confirmed European leaders want a joint meeting with Zelensky and the US to move talks forward.
