Peace deal under strain? US pushes back on Iran’s funds claim as new divisions surface

Fresh friction has emerged around the reported U.S.-Iran memorandum, with a senior U.S. official rejecting Iranian-linked claims that Tehran would get early access to $12 billion in frozen funds. Axios, as cited by Iran International, reported that the official said no frozen assets would be released unless Iran first implemented its commitments under the deal.
