Ukraine’s president said he told former U.S. President Donald Trump that Ukraine has effectively been at war for nearly 15 years and needs long-term security guarantees lasting decades. He said Trump agreed to consider guarantees of 30, 40 or even 50 years and confirmed he had held extensive talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on a proposed 20-point peace plan. The Ukrainian leader stressed that any agreement to end the war must include binding security guarantees backed by the U.S., Europe and Russia, calling such assurances essential to lasting peace.
