Russia flashes nuclear teeth as Trump's armada encircles Iran - Moscow goes full sovereign mode?

Russia signaled it will remain “responsible and prudent” despite the collapse of the New START nuclear arms treaty, as Moscow declared it is no longer bound by any obligations with the United States. Russia’s UN envoy Vasily Nebenzya said Washington failed to respond to Vladimir Putin’s proposal to preserve the status quo, forcing Moscow to reassess strategic stability. The warning came amid rising global tensions, with fears of a wider conflict involving Iran and continued deadlock over Ukraine. Moscow insisted any future arms deal must include nuclear NATO members like the U.K. and France. The treaty’s expiration coincides with U.S. efforts to broker a Ukraine settlement, though talks have yet to yield a breakthrough.
