In the latest episode of On The Record, Hindustan Times' Sunetra Choudhury speaks with Nobel Prize-winning economist and author Amartya Sen about the ongoing West Bengal elections. Sen talks about how the decision to have West Bengal Assembly polls is a “political” one. The Nobel Laureate adds that Bengal has committed to secularism in a way that’s remarkable. Polling for the first four phases has been concluded while the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth phases will take place on April 17, 22, 26, and 29 respectively.
