Spooked China builds bridge on Pangong Tso that was 2020 flashpoint

Geo-intelligence expert tweets satellite imagery of a bridge that China may be building across the Pangong Tso lake. The bridge is being constructed across a part of the lake that falls within Chinese territory. Once completed, the bridge will help China quickly move troops and weapons. The landlocked lake, partly in Ladakh and partly in Tibet, was the key flashpoint of the standoff at LAC. In August 2020, amid a tense standoff, the Indian Army occupied key heights in the Southern Banks of Pangong Tso lake. The Army's operation in August 2020 helped India gain an early edge over the Chinese forces in the area. The Chinese were taken aback by the swift movement of Indian soldiers and could reply only belatedly. India has been ramping-up infrastructure along the LAC. Apart from constructing new roads and arms depots, India has also inducted new weapons.
