Trump’s Ukraine envoy to quit as ‘peace plan’ leaks; U.S. seeking to end war on Putin’s terms now?

U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine, retired General Keith Kellogg, is reportedly set to step down in January after just under a year in the role, according to sources cited by Reuters. Kellogg’s exit comes at a pivotal moment: the White House is circulating a draft peace plan for Ukraine, which was reportedly delivered to Kyiv by Kellogg’s fellow envoy Steve Witkoff—who recently held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The controversial Trump-backed proposal would require Ukraine to cede key territories, including parts of Donbass still under Ukrainian control, significantly reduce its armed forces, and relinquish several weapon categories.
