Eight Pak soldiers killed in two attacks in Waziristan; Over 100 dead this year

• Eight Pakistan soldiers were killed in two separate attacks in North Waziristan region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Dawn News reported. The report said that seven troops were killed in a militant ambush while one was killed in a shootout. The attack on Pakistan troops came barely a few days after five policemen were killed by insurgents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Pakistan army has said that its 97 officers and troops were killed in first three months of 2022 in militant attacks. There has been a spike in attacks on Pakistan security forces since last year when Taliban captured Afghanistan. Most of the attacks have been claimed by TTP which enjoys safe haven in Afghanistan.
