Parisians gathered near Notre Dame Cathedral to pray for the historic landmark. The blaze collapsed the spire of the 12th Century building. Authorities said that the church's structure had been saved. Firefighters managed to stop the fire spreading to the northern belfry. The 850-year-old UNESCO world heritage is home to incalculable works of art. Crowd of mourners congregated near the cathedral to sing hymns and say prayers. “I am solemnly telling you tonight: this cathedral will be rebuilt by all of us together. And it's probably part of France's destiny and it will be our project for the years to come. I am committed to this” said Emmanuel Macron.
