For the first time since its inception, Taliban have made its inroads into Panjshir and brought the Valley under its control. Unlike 1990s, when Ahmad Shah Massoud was leading the Northern Alliance, the resistance forces however this time could not stop advancing Taliban, resulting in the fall of Panjshir. There were multiple factors that led to the fall of Panjshir which include lack of global support and military strategy.
