‘I kill criminals, not kids’: Why Philippines leader Duterte lashed out at Putin

Outgoing Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte criticized Putin for killing innocent civilians in Ukraine. While the two of them have been tagged as killers, Duterte said he only kills ‘criminals’. “I kill criminals, I don’t kill children and the elderly,” said the Philippine President. Duterte, who openly calls Putin an idol and a friend, voiced his rebuke for the first time. He blamed the Ukraine war for the spike in global oil prices in the world, including the Philippines. Duterte said he was not condemning the Russian president. However, Duterte disagreed with Putin’s labeling of the invasion as a ‘special military operation. Watch the full video for more.
