Indian minister at new Iran President's oath-taking; Afghanistan common concern

- Iran’s new President Ebrahim Raisi took oath on August 5 and vowed to protect the country’s political, cultural, and economic independence. Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar was one of the guests at Raisi’s swearing-in ceremony which had dignitaries from more than 70 countries. After the meeting, EAM Jaishankar & Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi met and discussed the situation in Afghanistan with Raisi commenting that India & Iran can play a constructive & useful role in ensuring security in Afghanistan.
