Indian-origin wins 2022 Scripps National Spelling Bee in 1st-ever tie-breaker

Indian-origin Harini Logan won the 2022 Scripps National Spelling Bee in 1st-ever tiebreaker. The 13-year-old eighth-grader spelled 21 words correctly during a 90-second spell-off, beating Vikram Raju by six. In the first-ever lightning-round tiebreaker, Harini Logan from Texas, claimed the trophy. Harini, one of the best-known spellers entering the bee, won more than $50,000 in cash and prizes. She is the fifth Scripps champion to be coached by Grace Walters, a former speller. Watch the full video for more.
