Dozens of men wearing stilettos, kitten heels and wedges took part on Thursday in Madrid's annual high-heel race for 2017 World Pride. Using rolls of sticky tape, the runners strapped their shoes to their feet before running down Calle Pelayo in Madrid's gay neighbourhood of Chueca, the epicentre of pride celebrations in the Spanish capital. The competition, which is only for men, is one of the top events in the Madrid Pride celebrations, which this year was expected to host more than 3 million revellers through from June 23 to July 2.
